The LS9 Club Community Partnership Project

After the success of the pilot deliver with Richmond Hill Primary, Dance Action Zone Leeds, Inspiring Positive Futures, Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos we knew this was something special and important. As funding came to an end the Dance Action Zone Leeds team and Inspiring Positive Futures team decided they would join forces to ensure activities for the young people of LS9 did not stop.

The Inspiring Positive Futures team have delivered consistent year round activities part of The LS9 Community Project. The Primary Futures programme has been design in such a bespoke way the engagement over the past 12 months has had a 90% retention rate. Across the 2025-2026 period, 72 young people took part, with average weekly attendance over the two nights of 48 participants. Most sessions reached full capacity, and one setting is now operating a waiting list, demonstrating the demand for this activity locally.

At least 85 sessions were delivered across the LS9 Programme, including 40 Skills and Youth Development sessions led by Inspiring Positive Futures and 45 Creative Dance sessions delivered by Dance Action Zone Leeds as part of the partnership offer. Alongside weekly provision, young people also accessed a range of enrichment opportunities, including 15 cultural visits and trips and 4 performances and shows. Activities such as visits to Leeds Libraries, Chapel FM and Meanwood Valley Farm, and the completion of Mini First Aid training, have helped to broaden horizons and build confidence, creating additional opportunities for the young people and generating social value locally.

Thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund, CO-OP Community Fund and Inner East Community Committee for seeing the value of this vital work for young people across LS9 in Leeds.

NEXT STEPS: The development of a young leaders and mentoring programme from the older participants.
